Why CandleWood? Our staff has over a decade of experience in health care and mental health. This includes their own personal struggles overcoming addiction and assisting family and friends who were struggling.
It was during this time that one of our clients told us about how years ago when a big storm would come through it would topple trees and knock out the power for days. People would light the tap roots to use as lamps so they wouldn’t get lost or stumble in the dark. They called it “candle wood” and it would burn for days on end. She said that this is what people need: a long lasting support when they are lost in the dark. That story stayed with us for years and became our mission. We aim to be that light in the dark helping to illuminating the steps to recovery.
It is our goal to bring to recovery to those who are struggling within our local community. Many people do not know what resources are available to them. Additionally, recovery can be a scary thing for those who are just starting out. Many do not know how to take those first steps to a happier, healthier lifestyle. We aim to be by your side during this process.
